The Commonwealth Local Government Forum has delivered a series of workshops in St.Lucia from 17 to 19 May and in Trinidad and Tobago from 27 to 29 May. The workshops on Climate Resilient Urban Development brought together both political and technical representatives from across local government along with representatives of key ministries and departments with responsibility for urban development and climate adaptation, key academics and targeted CSOs. CLGF was delighted to deliver the first Commonwealth Sustainable Cities Network (CSCN) member-led webinar at the end of May. Hosted by Belize City Council, the event set out to explore the issues around unlocking local finances, using the lessons learned from two very different examples. Read More
History has been made in the Caribbean with the recent elections in Trinidad and Tobago. The Commonwealth member state now uniquely has an all-female representation leading the country, with a female President, a female Prime Minister and a female Leader of the Opposition, all serving concurrently.
