Commonwealth family as a whole

03 November 2015

CLGF has been coordinating position of the Governmental Commonwealth Associated Organisations in the run up to the 2015 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). This involved a formal joint submission by the Associated Organisations (AOs) which was presented by CLGF Secretary-General Carl Wright to the Committee of the Whole at its meeting with Accredited Commonwealth Organisations on 21 October.

The submission seeks recognition of the Commonwealth family as a whole, entailing the Intergovernmental Commonwealth, the Associated Organisations and Commonwealth Civil Society, to ensure a joined up approach to Commonwealth policy-making, practice and finances in order to fully meet the objective of adding global value.

Organisations involved in the submission include CLGF, Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and Management, Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators, Commonwealth Games Federation, Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation, Conference of Commonwealth Meteorologists and the Conference of Commonwealth Postal Administrators.
