Enhancing revenue collection in Sri Lanka

20 October 2015

CLGF along with the Federation of Sri Lankan Local Government Authorities and the Ministry of Local Government and Provincial Councils have been working towards supporting pradeshiya sabhas (rural councils) to enhance revenue collecting capacity through various training and awareness raising events.

On 29 October, the Kurunagala District of the North Western Province hosted a one-day mobile local government service which provided free medical checkups and other services including issuing national identity cards, road improvements and renovating street lamps to all residents.
