Local governments key role in delivering 2030 Agenda

CLGF’s strong advocacy role as a partner in the Global Taskforce of Local and Regional Governments for Post-2015 Development Agenda towards Habitat III (GTF) and its efforts to ensure that local government is recognised as a key implementing partner in the UN 2030 Agenda  and the new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has successfully resulted in 2030 Agenda giving explicit recognition to the role of local and sub-national government, both in respect of specific SDGs, such as Goal 11 on inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities and human settlements, as well as in the provisions relating to the implementation and the follow-up and review of the SDGs.
