CLGF participated in the discussion on the role of decentralised cooperation in managing the refugee crisis during Platformas political council meeting on 8 April. The meeting emphasised the vital role of local governments in managing the refugee crisis, role of municipalities in coordinating volunteer support, integrating migrants and ensure exchange of best practices between host regions to ensure relocation of migrants. CLGF facilitated participation of mayors from member countries including Uganda and Ghana at the launch of the Inclusive Growth in Cities Campaign on 29 March in New York. CLGF supported the participation of Mayor Ibrahim Baidoo of Ashaiman, Ghana ; Mayor Issahaku Nuhu-Putiaha, Wa Municipal Assembly, Ghana and Mayor Johnson Muyanja of Mukono Municipality, Uganda at the event.
