CLGF Pacific hosted the 2nd Pacific Local Government Forum in Honiara on 5-7 November. The Forum provided an opportunity to address current and emerging local government issues and challenges, set an agenda for local government reform, and strengthen intergovernmental relations and collaborative governance. CLGF Pacific will be holding the second Pacific Local Government Forum (PLGF) in Honiara, Solomon Islands on 4 9 November 2012. The conference is the largest annual gathering of local government in the region and will bring together over 40 representatives from government ministries, local government associations and capital cities across eleven countries. The inaugural meeting of the East Africa Local Government Forum (EALGF) was held at the Impala Hotel, Arusha, from 24-25 September. The Forum comprises of a network of key players and stakeholders from local and central government involved in promoting decentralisation who wish to work together to ensure decentralisation is effective, to recognise the important role of local government and partners in development.
