African school on decentralisation

08 December 2021

CLGF is pleased to be one of the partners working with the Dullah Omar Institute, National Research Foundation, Addis Ababa University, University of the Western Cape, and the Hans Seidel Foundation to deliver the second African School on Decentralisation.

The first School was held successfully in 2021 and was virtual. In 2022 we hope it will be a physical event bringing together students, researchers, and practitioners from across the continent. It will run from 30 May 2022 to 10 June 2022 and will be held in Cape Town. The theme of the post-graduate programme will be Good Governance in African Cities.

Who can apply

The course is targeted at:

  • state officials - national, state/ provincial, and local levels; practitioners in multilevel governance;
  • members of local and international non governmental organisations
  • post-graduate students and researchers in law, public policy, governance, politics and related fields.

Costs

Accommodation and meals will be provided, however, participants are required to cover their own travel costs. There are a limited numbr of travel bursaries.

Apply online:

For more information and to apply, visit the school's website.

The deadline for applications is: 31 JANUARY 2022.

Given the COVID-19 uncertainty, the physical event depends on prevailing regulations around this, therefore, the event could still be virtual.
