14 March 2025

The Commonwealth Sustainable Cities Network (CSCN) is pleased to publish the Cities Space: Annual Newsletter 2024, which offers a comprehensive look at the activities of the CSCN and its work in advancing sustainable urbanisation across the Commonwealth in 2024.

Key milestones

This edition highlights some key milestones, including the continued strengthening of our governance through the Steering Committee; expanding partnerships with other built environment professionals (engineers, planners, architects, researchers); and impactful advocacy at global events, like CHOGM 2024 and COP29. Notably, the newsletter also celebrates gender-inclusive urban development, the mobilisation of climate finance, and the empowerment of youth leadership in local governance.

Looking ahead, the newsletter offers a glimpse into the priorities for 2025, including deepening city-to-city partnerships, fostering innovative funding mechanisms, and amplifying youth inclusion in urban policymaking. These areas will continue to drive our work and the success of our network.

Spotlights and success stories

You’ll also find inspiring member spotlights, success stories, and a closer look at the Commonwealth Sustainable Cities Network, itself - iits focal areas, frameworks, and membership details.

We invite you to read the full newsletter and reflect on the successes of the past year, as well as our exciting plans for 2025.
