CLGF Secretary-General receives honorary doctorate

CLGF Secretary-General Carl Wright was honoured by the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) at the annual graduation ceremonies in April this year. Mr Wright was conferred with the honorary degree of Doctor of Administration for his outstanding contribution to local government, public administration, international co-operation, economic development and human rights.

Various ministers and senior leaders including Hon Noel Arscott, Minister of Local Government and Community Development, Jamaica and Chairperson of the Caribbean Local Government Ministers (CFLGM) have congratulated Mr Wright. Hon Arscott said, “We in the Caribbean can testify to the great work that Mr Wright has done in promoting and advancing the cause of local governance and local democracy in all corners of the Commonwealth. Mr Wright has provided exemplary leadership and invaluable support to the strengthening of local governance throughout the Caribbean”.
