For the very first time, Africa played host to the meeting of the Commonwealth Trade Ministers. From 16-20 June 2025, ministers gathered together in Namibia to discuss a range of critical issues.
The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) is putting forward local solutions to reduce poverty across the country - with formal recommendations for the federal government's promised Canadian Poverty Reduction Strategy. FCM's submission, Ending Poverty Starts Locally, sets out a roadmap for all governments to work together to build more inclusive communities. Its 12 recommendations include prioritising social and affordable housing repair and construction, strengthening intergovernmental dialogue and supporting indigenous peoples in municipalities.
