Seeking Leaders in SIDS Climate Adaptation

06 March 2026

Could you mentor a Commonwealth fellow?

As part of the King’s Commonwealth Fellowship Programme Climate Resilience Fellowships (KCFP CRF), which is a development programme for mid-career professionals working in climate adaptation practice in Commonwealth-based Small Island Developing States (SIDS), one of CLGF’s partner organisations - the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) – is seeking leaders in climate adaptation practice and research in SIDS to join the programme either as academic supervisors or professional mentors.

The two roles are as follows:

  1. Academic supervisors will be university-based climate adaptation-focused academics. They will supervise and mark the main assessment, an implementation report of a climate adaptation project at master’s Dissertation-Level
  2. Professional mentors will be leaders within NGOs, local government, government agencies, or private organisations working within climate adaptation practice. They will support successful practical implementation of the student-led climate adaptation project.

If you are actively working on climate adaptation in your administration; leading a local government that is managing the impacts of climate change; engaged in a project run by your local authority in one of the Commonwealth SIDS, or part of a relevant government department or agency, this could be an excellent opportunity to share your experience to support others active in this field.

The deadline for applications is 26 March 2026.
