Deadline extended to 18 May for PFD Survey on EU support

06 May 2020

Calling all CLGF members to share your experiences of development cooperation with the European Union! Still time to give your views as the deadline has been extended to 18 May.

One of CLGF’s core activities is advocacy, representing our members on a number of influential bodies, both regionally and globally. One such body is the Policy Forum For Development (PFD). CLGF works with the PFD to discuss with the European Union (EU) the ways in which development objectives are pursued; as well as ensuring that the voices and concerns of local authorities and civil society are taken into consideration in the EU decision-making process. This is possible by using the insight of members, captured through our various meetings and projects.

The PFD is currently running a survey on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at country level. The PFD wants to know what kind of support you would like the EU to provide; and about the impact on your development work by COVID-19.

Click here to take part: The PFD SURVEY

The deadline is 18 May.

About the survey

The survey looks at three main areas:

A. Our common objectives, which are mostly framed by the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);

B. The context in which we carry out our work, which is strongly influenced by how enabling the legal, administrative, economic and social environment are in which you operate; and

C. The means by which we pursue our objectives, which most of the time require developing alliances and multi-stakeholder partnerships.

Given the exceptional circumstances in which the global community finds itself due to COVID-19, there is a section at the end of the questionnaire regarding the impact that the situation may have in the working areas covered by this consultation.

This is a great opportunity to give your views. It also comes at an important time with the appointment of a new European Commission and the next Multi-annual Financial Framework.
