Commonwealth Local Government Forum

What goes around comes around

17 June 2019

DSG Lucy Slack presented the work of CLGF’s Commonwealth Sustainable Cities Network (CSCN) to an exclusive audience of stakeholders at last week’s Roundtable Discussion on the Circular Economy in the Commonwealth.

Held at Marlborough House, the event was organised by a number of partners including CLGF: the Commonwealth Businesswomen’s Network, Commonwealth Secretariat, London Waste and Recycling Board, the Bloomsbury Institute and the RSA.

Importance of Circular Economy

Seeking to highlight recent developments in the Circular Economy in the UK and share knowledge and good practice, discussions focused on why the Circular Economy is important; with descriptions of various Commonwealth initiatives; Sustainable Fashion and a general discussion led by high commissions.

Empowering women

Some of the outcomes related to the coordination of more initiatives specifically for women in the Commonwealth and ensuring that the interests of young people were included and they were given a voice.
