As part of CLGF's 30th anniversary commemorations, we are featuring interviews with 30 women from local government across the Commonwealth. Standing for election, and then serving in local government, has never been easy. Women face so many additional barriers making entering public service much more of a challenge.
These women are all champions in their respective ways, making a unique contribution to the communities they servce, and to the cause of gender parity - everywhere. As we look back on the last 30 years, we celebrate each one and, looking to the future, the phrase "If you can't see it, you can't be it" highlights the importance of representation and role models and we, therefore, thank them warmly. We hope you enjoy their stories.
