Fathers Day was commemorated on 9 August in Samoa, and in one community was celebrated under the theme, Developing Communities will Sustain the Pacific and Save the World. The Government of Samoa, in collaboration with CLGF invited more than 300 participants from Upolu Island for the event. Many participants both included village mayors and women representatives. CLGF welcomes the recent announcement of the proposed Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the UN Open Working Group (OWG) on 19 July to help localise the post-2015 development agenda.
