Young people: your Commonwealth needs your views!

12 May 2022

With 60% of the Commonwealth's population aged 30 or under, CLGF believes that getting the views of young people, and incorporating them into tangible plans for the way we prepare for the future, is not just important, it is crucial!

As part of the work of the Commonwealth Sustainable Cities Network (CSCN), CLGF is developing a short think-piece to support reflections on the key issues facing young people in cities and the possible actions that city governments can take to address these. The aim is to explore such themes as:

  • economic inclusion
  • social inclusion
  • housing and
  • democratic inclusion

This will inform the work of the Commonwealth Youth for Sustainable Urbanisation Network and local government input into the important discussions around Youth and Cities in upcoming meetings at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Kigali, Rwanda in June, including the Commonwealth Youth Forum
