Nigeria local government comes to London

01 October 2021

CLGF was very happy recently to receive a visit from the President of ALGON, Hon Kolade Alabi, to discuss ways in which the two organisations could work more closely in coming months.  There was a clear focus on work to strengthen governance and decentralisation.

Sustainable urbanisation

It was a useful opportunity to brief Hon Alabi on the breadth of CLGF’s work, and to highlight new initiatives coming up to promote sustainable urbanisation, particularly in the run up to the next Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in 2022.

CLGF's Secretary-General, Ms Lucy Slack, said: "We look forward to working increasingly closely with ALGON in coming months. It is always a pleasure to meet up with our members in person and have a meaningful, two-way dialogue."
